Why We Built Fix My Speaker
Every single day, thousands of smartphones are accidentally dropped in sinks, splashed at swimming pools, or exposed to beach sand and pocket lint. When users search for solutions, they are frequently confronted with dangerous folklore advice such as submerging the phone in uncooked rice bowls, applying heat guns, or prodding speaker grilles with needles.
Our team of audio software engineers and mobile hardware enthusiasts recognized that premium smartwatches utilized a built in acoustic water ejection tone to clear speaker ports after swimming. We realized this same acoustic principle could be synthesized directly inside web browsers to help smartphone and laptop users everywhere.
Calibrating the 165Hz Resonant Tone
We tested dozens of mobile transducers to identify 165Hz as the optimum frequency where smartphone speaker diaphragms achieve maximum physical excursion to push liquid out.
Expanding to Dedicated Grille Presets
Recognizing that top call earpieces and microphone pinholes require different frequencies than bottom speakers, we engineered specialized suites spanning 300Hz to 2800Hz.
Empowering Global Users with Free Web Access
We eliminated download barriers by packaging our Web Audio algorithms into lightweight, ultra fast web pages accessible on iOS Safari, Android Chrome, and desktop browsers.
